The President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagi Khurelsukh, also got acquainted with the cultivation method that has been used for 8 years and is bearing fruit in Kherlen sum of Khentii Province.
Since 2014, “Khentii Tayelan” company has been successfully experimenting with cultivation methods suitable for areas with low soil fertility and high winds, and last year alone, they harvested 22 quintals per hectare.
The company aims to increase the amount of harvest per hectare, improve the use of land and increase the variety of crops, reduce the cost of hectare, reduce the use of plant protection agents and herbicides, and create eco-food production technology.
Although the technology has not yet been developed, this method of cultivation improves the quality of the soil and yields an average of 25 quintals per hectare. By not disturbing the soil as much as possible and keeping its natural appearance, the soil is improved year by year. It is important in many ways, because it is cultivated every year without tilling and tilling the soil, starting the cultivation in April and harvesting in August. This technology has been introduced not only in Sum of Khentii province, but also in 8 provinces such as Khuvsgul, Overkhangai, Arkhangai, Darkhan, and Selenge, and several companies have started using it in experimental cultivation.
U. Khurelsukh: This method plays a very important role in the goal of meeting our food needs from within the country in the next 5 years. We have the potential to become an exporter of organic food. Let’s work together for this goal
