About 100 animal slaughtering, 90 meat (sausage) processing, and more than 80 thermal meat processing factories and workshops are registered nationwide.
In 2021, 3.4 percent of all processed meat was processed by domestic industries.

Therefore, it is necessary to consider imported food raw materials and finished products separately and change this provision of the law.
The President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagi Khurelsukh, said that he believes that national production enterprises and wealth creators will make an important contribution to meeting domestic needs with 19 types of products in the next five years, and then realizing the goal of becoming an exporting country.
Therefore, it was noted that the government is improving the legal environment, providing long-term, low-interest loans, and supporting them with tax policies.
