The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. ITC is the only international agency dedicated to the development of micro, small and mediumsized enterprises. Formed in 1964, ITC is the focal point for trade related technical assistance within the United Nations system.
The SheTrades initiative was launched by ITC in 2015 as a means to address gender disparities in trade and to promote women’s participation in international value chains. It aims to promote women in trade, with a focus on increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs from small businesses in developing countries in international value chains, raising the value of the international business they transact and diversifying the markets they access
To build upon the region’s strong track record in women’s participation in the economy, the International Trade Centre associate economic affairs officer Mr. Edison Yap, Mrs. G.Gangamurun, head of USCSMES and Mr. M.Munkhjargal, head of Innovation and Project Department, Mrs. J.Uyanga, head of Foreign Relations and Cooperation Department discussed their plans to launch an ITC SheTrades Regional Hub in Mongolia, during the “World Export Development Forum” on June 26-29 under the auspices of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa
SheTrades initiative will bring together women entrepreneurs from all around the Mongolia. Strengthening the women-inclusive business ecosystem remains a priority and will help unique chance to connect meet potential buyers, investors and partners around the world.
