Ulaanbaatar, September 20, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On September 19, 2023, the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, who is participating in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the latter’s request.
The President of Mongolia noted the commitment to strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with Kazakhstan, a country which Mongolia has historical and cultural bond.
The two Heads of the State acknowledged that, as landlocked developing countries in Central Asia, there are ample opportunities for advancing trade and economic cooperation between Mongolia and Kazakhstan by exchanging experiences for development.
The two Presidents agreed on the importance of diversifying the types of imported and exported goods to increase the trade turnover, signing of the 2023-2025 Roadmap for Intensifying Economic and Trade Cooperation between Mongolia and Kazakhstan and establishing the Mongolia- Kazakhstan Business Council in the near future.
They also discussed issues of mutual interest and avenues for expanding cooperation in the international and regional arenas, implementing projects and programs, and exchanging experiences in the mining sector of the two countries.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his intention to pay a State Visit to Mongolia in 2024.
